The last test of the J-WRC in Spain was full of suspense. The German Aaron Burkart had a seven-point lead over the Dutchman Hans Weijs Jr, his only rival for the title. In the Santa Marina special, Aaron Burkart lost a wheel on his Suzuki Swift and got stuck in an embankment. Hans Weijs Jr, who was in second place, was then on course to win the title.

But Hans Weijs Jr also encountered problems on his Citroën C2 S1600 in the penultimate special of the Rally from Spain. With his fourth place, Aaron Burkart has enough points to win a J-WRC title which was very uncertain until the very end of the Championship.
