Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) a signé le scratch dans Viana do Castelo, l’ES2 du Rally du Portugal, en bouclant les 26,7km en 15’44’’3. Le Néo-Zélandais a devancé d’une seconde Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) en profitant de sa bonne position sur la route. Kris Meeke (Citroën) suit à quelques dixièmes devant Ott Tänak (Ford) and Craig Breen (Citroën) less than 4s from the reference.
Mads Ostberg (Ford) achieved the 6th provisional time ahead of Sébastien Ogier (Ford), Elfyn Evans (Ford), Dani Sordo (Hyundai) and the Toyotas of Juho Hänninen and Esapekka Lappi. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) is only 12th ahead of Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën) without being able to explain his lagging performance.
Hayden Paddon takes the lead of the Rally Portugal ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala and Kris Meeke. Mads Ostberg and Craig Breen complete the top five ahead of Sébastien Ogier, Ott Tänak, Elfyn Evans, Dani Sordo and Juho Hänninen who completes the top ten around ten seconds behind the leader. Thierry Neuville follows in 11th place ahead of Stéphane Lefebvre.
