Lewis Hamilton takes his fifth victory of the season by winning the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring. Mercedes signs a new double with polesitter Nico Rosberg preceding Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) who held off Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) despite only one stop.
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) completes the top five after energetically resisting Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari). Fernando Alonso (McLaren) ranks seventh ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr (Toro Rosso), Valtteri Bottas (Williams) and Nico Hülkenberg (Force India). Romain Grosjean (Haas) takes 14th place.
Lewis Hamilton takes the lead in the Championship with a six-point lead over Nico Rosberg.
Alonso ranks 7th ahead of Sainz Jr, Bottas and Pérez who completes the top ten ahead of his teammate Hülkenberg. Palmer is 12th ahead of Gutiérrez, Grosjean, Magnussen, Kvyat, Nasr, Massa, Wehrlein, Ericsson and Haryanto. Button was the only driver to retire.
Ricciardo takes the last step of the podium ahead of Vettel, Verstappen and Räikkönen.
Hamilton wins the Hungarian GP for the 5th time. Mercedes signs another double with Rosberg's 2nd place. The Briton takes the lead in the Championship with 6 points ahead of the German.
Hamilton begins the final lap of the race.
There are only 2 laps left for the drivers to cover.
T68 – Räikkönen narrowly avoids further contact with Verstappen when braking for the first corner.
T67 – Vettel came back to 8 tenths behind Ricciardo. The end of the race is long for the Red Bull driver.
With 5 laps to go, Hamilton remains 1″3 ahead of Rosberg. Ricciardo holds off Vettel for the final step of the podium. The duel continues between Verstappen and Räikkönen for 5th place. Alonso remains 7th ahead of Bottas and the Force India of Hulkenberg and Pérez.
T65 – Rosberg regains 3 tenths and comes back to one second behind Hamilton.
T64 – Vettel also came back to within one second of Ricciardo, still in 3rd place with one stop less than his direct opponent.
T64 – Hamilton lost time by missing braking. The Briton gained several tenths to place Rosberg more than a second behind.
T63 – Rosberg took 8 tenths from Hamilton on the last lap and came back to half a second behind the leader.
T63 – Button confirms to his team that he is returning to retire. This is his third retirement of the season.
T62 – If all the drivers are still in the race, Button sees smoke coming from his McLaren. The Briton, who encountered a brake problem at the start of the race, was 19th before returning to the pits.
T61 – Räikkönen remains close to Verstappen but is no longer able to attempt an attack. The Red Bull driver, who does not appear to be under investigation, even indicates on his radio that his opponent is “exceeding the limits of the track”.
T60 – Rosberg closes to a tenth of Hamilton. 1″9 separates the two drivers.
T59 – At the head of the race, Rosberg came back to 2s from Hamilton who still controls his race with a dozen laps to go.
T57 – Contact between Verstappen and Räikkönen. The Red Bull driver changed lines several times. The Finn's Ferrari has a damaged front wing but Iceman can continue.
