Dani Sordo (Hyundai) is closest to the Frenchman, 4”2 behind. The Spaniard took a second from his teammate Thierry Neuville.
Ott Tänak (Ford) lost nine seconds to Mads Ostberg (Ford) following alternator problems.
Sébastien Ogier now has a 19s lead over Andreas Mikkelsen, while Thierry Neuville only maintains a six-tenths lead over Dani Sordo. Ott Tänak still has a 9-second lead over Mads Ostberg.
Latvala sets the 5th time, 7″6 behind his teammate Ogier.
Camilli sets the 6th provisional time, 16″1 behind Ogier. His Fiesta RS WRC is covered in mud.
Tänak is the slowest with 26″9 behind the provisional reference. The Dmack driver is slowed by alternator problems. The Estonian drops 9s to Ostberg who is still 52s from 5th place.

Heavy downpours once again soaked the roads during the 2nd stage. The drivers did well to choose the soft tires, knowing that Ogier took a hard tire instead of a soft tire as a replacement unlike his opponents.
ADAC has confirmed that the Lefebvre-Moreau crew, victims of an accident on Panzerplatte, the tenth special stage of Rally Germany, suffered internal injuries and fractures. Doctors clarified that the competitors were not in critical condition but that they had to remain hospitalized for treatment.
The drivers made their choice of tires for the second pass of the 2nd stage. All the drivers on Michelin shoes opted for 5 soft tires except Ogier who took 4 softs and one hard.
