Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) won the Monte-Carlo Rally for the sixth time, achieving his fifth consecutive success in this event. The five-time world champion precedes the Toyotas of Ott Tänak and Jari-Matti Latvala on the podium.

Kris Meeke (Citroën) took advantage of an error from Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) to climb to fourth place by signing his first scratch in the Power Stage with a time of 10'06''7. The Finn lost three places following his exit and slipped to seventh place behind Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and Elfyn Evans (M-Sport). The Belgian took 10''5 from the Welshman and is ahead of him in the general classification by only a second! Bryan Bouffier (M-Sport) took eighth position ahead of Craig Breen (Citroën) and Jan Kopecky (Skoda), winner in WRC 2.

Kris Meeke beat Thierry Neuville by 2”3 in the La Cabanette-Col de Braus special. Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) followed at 4”4 ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala and Sébastien Ogier.

Ogier, after his 41st WRC victory: “This weekend was very complicated. We often face difficult conditions here. I can only thank my team in this situation. I made a few mistakes which caused me to lose a little time but I was able to stay on a good pace. »

Ogier wins the Monte-Carlo Rally for the 5th time in a row, his 6th success in this event! The M-Sport driver takes the final point of the Power Stage, 8s behind Meeke.

Tänak eliminates Breen from the top 5 of the special by finishing 8″5 behind Meeke’s provisional scratch. The Estonian secures 2nd place for his first rally with Toyota. " I am very happy. It's comforting to start this season like this because we're always apprehensive about joining a new team. I thank my opening team who did a superb job. »

Latvala secured the podium by setting the 4th provisional time, 6″9 behind the benchmark set by Meeke. “It's very good news to be here, especially after my crash in the Power Stage in Australia. »

Lappi fails more than half a minute from the provisional scratch. The Toyota driver's error cost him dearly as he lost 3 places by slipping behind Meeke, Neuville and Evans. “I lost the rear on a dirty part and I couldn't brake. I can't even say how disappointed I am. »

Lappi should lose his 4th place to Meeke. His lead was less than 19 seconds over the Northern Irishman at the start of the Power Stage.

Lappi went off the road! The Toyota driver did not hit anything but the Finn had to reverse to regain the direction of travel after going wide in a right turn.

Meeke took the provisional scratch with a time of 10'06"7, 2"3 better than Neuville. The Citroën driver also saved his 5th place by ahead of the Belgian by 10″7 in the general classification. “It was a nightmare weekend. I had no feeling behind the wheel. I gave everything to try to keep this 5th place. We can be satisfied to get through such a difficult ordeal. »

Neuville takes the provisional scratch 2″1 ahead of his teammate Mikkelsen after setting a time of 10’09″0. The Belgian remains in the fight with Evans for 6th position. “I know I made a mistake on Thursday but the rest was good. Breen sets the 2nd provisional time, 4″4 behind Mikkelsen. The Citroën driver secures 9th place. " It's frustrating. I had engine shutdowns throughout the weekend and it caused me to lose 3 or 4 seconds in the ES. »

Kopecky takes victory in WRC 2 in his Skoda Fabia R5, beating Mevius by almost half a minute in the special.

Guillaume de Mevius finished more than a minute behind Mikkelsen in his Peugeot 208 T16 R5, which secured 2nd place in WRC 2.
