Arai stopped on the stage while the Skoda driver was in 4th place in WRC 2 ahead of Osian Pryce. The Japanese would be on the move again.
Teemu Suninen (Ford) took the scratch in SS20 of the Rally Finland by completing the 14,9km of Pihlajakoski in 6'49''0, 1''3 ahead of Elfyn Evans (Ford). The Finn was more than 5 seconds ahead of his compatriot Juho Hänninen (Toyota). Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) set the 8th fastest time, 5''5 behind the benchmark.
Esapekka Lappi maintains a lead of more than 54 seconds over his closest pursuer who is now Teemu Suninen. The M-Sport driver took 2nd place, one second ahead of Juho Hänninen. Elfyn Evans follows at 6”5, now more than 15 seconds ahead of Craig Breen (Citroën). Thierry Neuville follows in 6th place ahead of Kris Meeke (Citroën) who sees Ott Tänak (Ford) come back to less than 5s.
Lappi finished 4 seconds behind Suninen. The Toyota driver has plenty to see coming, as his lead is so significant. “I’m really torn. I've never been so disappointed to lead a rally, but that's part of the game. We still have to reach the finish line by staying focused without being under pressure. »
Suninen takes the provisional scratch with a time of 6'49″0. The M-Sport driver took 2nd place, one second ahead of Hänninen. “We didn’t make any mistakes. It was a clean special. We have to attack even more to try to keep this position. »
Breen takes 4 tenths from Hänninen but drops more than 3s to Evans who is now ahead of him by more than 15s in the general classification. The Citroën driver remains 5th. “There were still some strange things with the car in certain sections. »
Hänninen drops 4s to Evans and only has a 6s lead over the Dmack driver, still temporarily occupying 2nd place. “I had a problem with the handling of the car. The anti-roll bar is malfunctioning. We will try to repair it for the next ES. »
Ostberg is closest to Evans with half a second behind. The Norwegian takes another 10 seconds from Sordo who sees his lead reduced to 33 seconds in the fight for 9th place. “The conditions were quite harsh. The Ostberg jump in Ouninpohja was measured at 50m. He was the one who went the furthest on this passage.
