With a time of 19'19''9, the Yaris WRC driver beat Dani Sordo (Hyundai) by almost three seconds and Craig Breen (Citroën) by more than seven seconds. Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) followed more than nine seconds ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), Kris Meeke (Citroën) and Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) who is almost 18 seconds behind. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) followed more than 18 seconds ahead of the Fords of Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) dismounted on this course after damaging his right front suspension after hitting a stone.

Andreas Mikkelsen takes the lead of Rally Argentina with a 3s lead over Sébastien Ogier. Ott Tänak moved up to third place with a six-tenths lead over Esapekka Lappi.
