The first WRC-2s arrive. Esapekka Lappi (Skoda) was once again the fastest in 3'30″4 and ahead of Teemu Suninen (Skoda) by 1″9. Pontus Tidemand (Skoda) follows in third position on the SS, 4″9 behind Lappi. Elfyn Evans (Ford Fiesta R5) follows in fourth position at 5″7. Quentin Gilbert loses 10″3 on his DS3 R5 and is ahead of Yoann Bonato (DS3 R5).

Overall in the category, Lappi is in the lead after the first two specials this Friday with a 5″ lead over Suninen. Gilbert is at 5″30 overall, while Bonato is at 4″33.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) set the best time of this SS3 in 3'25″8 and was ahead of Kris Meeke (DS3) by two tenths and Ott Tänak's Ford Fiesta by six tenths. Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) tries to maintain the pace by opening the road and gives up 1″2 on his Finnish teammate.

Craig Breen (DS3) follows in fifth position ahead of Mads Ostberg (Ford Fiesta) Thierry Neuville and Kevin Abbring (Hyundai i20). Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) is the main loser of the ES, losing 5″8. The Norwegian falls to fifth overall, still dominated by Kris Meeke with a 1″4 lead over Tänak and 2″ over Latvala. Ogier is in fourth place at 4″5.

Valeriy Gorban encountered a transmission problem on his Mini with a faulty shaft and only two drive wheels. 4’12″9 and more than 47″ lost for the Ukrainian.
