Kris Meeke (Citroën) took the lead in the Sardinia Rally at the end of SS4 where he set the 6th fastest time, 7''6 behind Dani Sordo (Hyundai), author of the scratch after completing the 15km from Tula in 11'51''2.

The Spaniard was 2 seconds ahead of his teammate Thierry Neuville, with Ott Tänak (Ford) following more than 3 seconds ahead of Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) and Sébastien Ogier (Ford). Mads Ostberg (Ford) finished more than 8 seconds ahead of the Toyotas of Jari-Matti Latvala and Juho Hänninen who lost 4”3 to Kris Meeke. Andreas Mikkelsen (Citroën) finished more than 23 seconds behind the benchmark. Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) lost more than a minute while still being slowed down by his gearbox problems.

Elfyn Evans (Ford) retired after going off the road while in 9th place.

Kris Meeke is 8 tenths ahead of Hayden Paddon in the general classification. Juho Hänninen slipped to 3rd place, 3”3 behind the New Zealander. Mads Ostberg remains 4th, less than 2 seconds from the provisional podium. Dani Sordo gains two places by climbing into the top five with 4s over Ott Tänak. Thierry Neuville gains 3 positions ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala. Sébastien Ogier finds himself 9th ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen.

Lappi lets go of Sordo's scratch for a minute. The Toyota driver is more than half a minute behind Mikkelsen in the general classification. “I'm still slowed down by my gearbox problems, nothing more. »

Ostberg achieves the 7th provisional time, taking 3″6 from Hänninen. The Ford private driver remains 4th, 1″5 behind Hänninen.
