In the lead at the end of SS4 after a controlled first part of the day, Sébastien Ogier continues his momentum. The Toyota Gazoo Racing driver set the best time of SS5 with a time of 13'35″8. Her teammate Elfyn Evans was unable to do anything and crossed the finish line eight seconds behind. Ott Tänak suffered the blow during this fifth special. In difficulty, the Estonian could not do better than third place, 12″1 from the lead.

Untenable this Friday morning, Sébastien Ogier widens the gap at the head of Rallye Monte-Carlo 2021. The Tricoloe is now 11″3 ahead of Elfyn Evans. Leader at the end of the first day of driving, Ott Tänak (Hyundai) is 3rd, 24″8 from first place in the event.

Penalized by ten seconds for a late check-in on SS4, Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) occupies 4th position in this Monte-Carlo. The Finn is 28″2 behind Sébastien Ogier. Lagging behind and making a mistake, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) is fifth, more than a minute behind Sébastien Ogier.

General classification after SS5

In WRC2, Andreas Mikkelsen is still in the lead ahead of Adrien Fourmaux who is 23″8 behind the Norwegian.
