Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) was a step ahead of the others in SS6 of the Sardinia Rally played in the rain. The five-time WRC champion completed the 22,12km of Tula in 19'24''0 and relegated Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) to more than 17 seconds. Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) was closest, 12 seconds behind, with Ott Tänak (Toyota) following more than 15 seconds behind.
The previous leader of the event Andreas Mikkelsen lost more than 26 seconds to the Frenchman. The Norwegian would be the victim of gearbox problems.
Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) finished a few tenths behind the Norwegian, preceding Mads Ostberg (Citroën), Teemu Suninen (M-Sport), Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) and Craig Breen (Citroën).
The deterioration of conditions shakes up the ranking. Sébastien Ogier takes the lead of the Sardinia Rally with a 3s lead over Andreas Mikkelsen. Thierry Neuville follows at five seconds with a tenth ahead of Ott Tänak. Jari-Matti Latvala moves back into the Top 5 ahead of Esapekka Lappi, but Teemu Suninen loses three places and finds himself seventh ahead of Hayden Paddon. Mads Ostberg and Craig Breen find themselves completing the Top 5.
Ole Christian Veiby (Skoda) was leading WRC 2 before suffering mechanical problems.
Veiby is idling with mechanical problems. The Skoda driver led WRC 2.
Lukasz Pieniazek went off the road. WRC 2 competitors must slow down to pass on the narrow road. The Pole occupied 7th place in the category. Fabio Andolfi, 5th in the category, would also be at a standstill.
Paddon sets the 5th time, 22″6 behind Ogier. The Hyundai driver remains 8th between Suninen and Ostberg. “There were a lot of puddles and the ruts were pronounced. »

Latvala sets the 6th time, almost 27 seconds behind Ogier. The Toyota driver especially lost time in the second part of the SS. “I lost confidence from the middle of the special as the conditions got more and more difficult. »
