Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën) finds himself at the head of WRC 2 after taking advantage of mechanical problems that occurred in the Skoda Fabia R5 of Ole Christian Veiby who found himself more than four minutes behind the Frenchman. Jan Kopecky (Skoda) is the French driver's closest rival with 14 seconds behind. Nicolas Ciamin (Hyundai) climbed onto the provisional podium in the category one minute ahead of Fabio Andolfi (Skoda).

Ott Tänak (Toyota) and Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) both retired on the final stage of day one at Rally Sardinia. The Estonian who was in third place appears to have damaged his radiator when he hit a bump, while the Finn who followed him in fourth went off the road.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) completed the final special of the first stage of the Sardinia Rally with the best time. The Finn set a time of 8'07''2, one second ahead of Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport), Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) and Mads Ostberg (Citroën). Elfyn Evans (M-Sport), Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) and Craig Breen (Citroën) follow around four seconds behind. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) was the slowest, almost ten seconds behind after going into a ditch.

Sébastien Ogier retains the lead of the Sardinia Rally with almost 19 seconds ahead of Thierry Neuville. Jari-Matti Latvala finds himself on the provisional podium with a little more than four seconds ahead of Esapekka Lappi. Mads Ostberg completes the new Top 5 with three seconds ahead of Hayden Paddon. Craig Breen finds himself seventh.

Paddon sets the 6th time, 4 seconds behind the Latvala scratch. The Hyundai driver finds himself 6th, just over 3 seconds behind Ostberg. “We’re going to sleep well tonight. »

Ostberg equalizes the time of Ogier and Lappi with 1″1 behind Latvala. The Citroën driver finds himself in the Top 5. “We had the soft tires and the settings for the rain, but we tried to take advantage of it. I hope to have a more advantageous position tomorrow. »

Breen signs the 5th fastest time, 4″1 behind the provisional scratch. The Citroën driver should climb to 7th place with the problems of Tänak and Suninen. “It was definitely a difficult day. »
