The two Racing Points appear to have saved a set of tires in Q1, which could play a role for both drivers.

Q3 is launched: who will take pole position for this 2020 Spanish Grand Prix?
Here is the Q2 ranking, where Vettel fails by two thousandths against Norris for the 10th qualifying place for Q3.
Lewis Hamilton continues his domination in qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix by setting the best time in Q2 in 1'16"013, 139 thousandths ahead of Valtteri Bottas, and 0"505 ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull).
Followed by Lance Stroll (Racing Point), Pierre Gasly (AlphaTauri), Carlos Sainz (McLaren), Sergio Pérez (Racing Point), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Alex Albon (Red Bull) and Lando Norris (McLaren). Elimination, however, of Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), taken out by Pierre Gasly, as well as Daniil Kvyat (AlphaTauri), Daniel Ricciardo (Renault), Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo) and Esteban Ocon (Renault).
Kvyat eliminates the two Renaults of Ricciardo and Ocon, before Vettel takes out the AlphaTauri driver, but Gasly signs the 5th fastest time which takes Vettel out of Q3.
Leclerc does not improve his Q2 reference and is overtaken by Pérez. Albon and Norris are no better than Leclerc.
