SMP was the best of the rest with the No. 1 BR17 of Sirotkin-Orudzhev-Sarrazin finishing just over half a second behind the benchmark. She is ahead of the first Rebellion R13 of Berthon-Laurent-Menezes. The Dragonspeed BR1 and the Enso CLMP1/01 complete the LMP1 rankings.

Things are getting agitated in GTE Pro. All the drivers on the track aim for the best time and compete. Difficult to say who will take pole position with 4 minutes to go!
All the prototypes are on the track, with the exception of the Rebellion n°1 which suffered a problem and the Graff Oreca 07 which is on provisional pole for the LMP2. The track is busy at the end of qualifying.
Lapierre replaces theAlpine in 4th position in LMP2, placing himself between the Oreca 07s of Dragonspeed and Idec Sport Racing.
Thomas Preining (Porsche no. 86) takes third fastest time in GTE Am, five tenths behind the leader.
Antonio Garcia (Corvette n°63) wakes up the GTE Pro category by taking third time, just eight tenths behind the leader!
Buemi returned to the track in the No. 8 Toyota. Lopez is at the wheel of the sister car which remains on provisional pole.
