Williams will also miss the second day of testing

After having to miss the opening of the winter tests of Formula 1 2019, Williams is also preparing to skip the second day of on-track action in Barcelona. The Grove team made this known through its deputy team principal, Claire Williams, in a terse press release released during the lunch break on Monday. 

« We are moving more and more towards a second postponement because it seems unlikely that we will be ready in time to ride before Wednesday, at the earliest., said the daughter of Sir Frank Williams. This news is obviously terribly disappointing but unfortunately this is the situation in which we currently find ourselves. We will launch the FW42 on track as soon as possible ». 

The famous British team is coming out of one of the most complicated campaigns in its history, marked by a 10th and final place in the Constructors' championship, the loss of support from Martini, and the departure of several partners for Racing Point in the wake of Lawrence Stroll. Williams is fielding returning Robert Kubica and debutant George Russell this season.
