Tour of Corsica 2019
Camilli and Bonato are fighting for the lead of WRC 2. The driver on a VW Polo GTI R5 is ahead of Bonato's C3 R5 by 6s. Gryazin follows at 19s just ahead of Veiby and JKajetanowicz. Ciamin is 6th, two places ahead of Loubet and Fourmaux.
The crews are now heading to the 17,37km Alta-Rocca special. Departure is scheduled for 10:32 a.m.
The Citroëns seem to be suffering at the start of the Tour de Corse event. Sébastien Ogier was one of the slowest in the 2km Valinco SS25,94, finishing more than 13 seconds behind Kris Meeke (Toyota). The Northern Irishman completed the course in 14'23''6.
Ott Tänak (Toyota) was the closest, 1”4 behind. Dani Sordo (Hyundai) followed less than 3 seconds just ahead of his teammate Thierry Neuville. Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) finished 5 seconds ahead of Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) and Teemu Suninen (M-Sport). Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) was able to repair his i20 WRC, but the Alsatian remained behind with more than 11 seconds behind. Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) was the slowest, 17 seconds behind.
Ott Tänak took the lead of the race by 6 tenths ahead of Elfyn Evans. Dani Sordo remains in 3rd place with one second ahead of Thierry Neuville. Esapekka Lappi enters the Top 5 at the expense of Teemu Suninen and Jari-Matti Latvala. Sébastien Ogier remains 8th, 21 seconds behind the leader, ahead of Kris Meeke by almost half a minute. Sébastien Loeb is more than 2 minutes late.
Suninen signs the 7th fastest time, almost 11 seconds behind Meeke's scratch. The M-Sport driver slips to 6th place behind Lappi, 11 seconds off the lead in the race.
Sordo takes the 3rd time, almost 3 seconds behind Meeke's scratch. The Hyundai driver is one second behind the race lead now occupied by Tänak.
Latvala is the slowest with 17s behind his teammate Meeke. “I felt good driving but the weather is bad. It's very strange. Perhaps the ratings were too conservative. »
Latvala lost a lot of time with more than 15 seconds behind in the 3rd split. Sordo loses a little time in the special after an aggressive start.
Loeb is the slowest after Ogier with a delay of 11 seconds on the provisional scratch. “The car is working well but we are far away now. »
Lappi is the slowest after Ogier with more than 8s behind Meeke. The Finn is almost ten seconds from the lead of the race. “It seemed a little better, but I'm missing a lot of speed. I can't go any faster. We are the slowest, it's not great. »
Evans sets the 4th fastest time, 5s behind Meeke, almost 4s behind Tänak. The Estonian takes the lead of the race with 6 tenths ahead of the Welshman.
Conversely, Sordo is the fastest with 1″7 ahead of Tänak in the first split.
Loeb is almost 5 seconds behind Tänak in the 2nd part. He is the slowest among the drivers on the track.
Meeke takes the provisional scratch with a 1″4 lead over his teammate Tänak. There will still be a long way to go to recover the time lost after his puncture in the previous special.
Neuville finally failed 2″7 behind Tänak and was similarly behind the Toyota driver overall. “I felt the car a little, but I suffered from the front axle. »
Neuville is now 2″5 behind Tänak in the 3rd split. Lappi and Loeb are more than 2 seconds behind Tänak in the 1st intermediate.
Ogier fails a dozen seconds behind Tänak. The Citroën driver is 21s behind the championship leader overall.
Ogier is still losing time with more than 11 seconds behind Tänak in the 4th intermediate.
Tänak signs a first reference in 14'25″0. It will be better than Ogier who is struggling to keep up with the Toyota driver.
Ogier is now more than 10 seconds behind Tänak in the 3rd split.
Evans is further behind in the first km with a second behind Tänak in the first split.
