Rally Finland 2021
The start of SS4 is scheduled for 16:08 a.m.
First scratch for Tänak who is now 1″7 ahead of Breen in the general classification. Lappi completes the Top 3. Ogier is 7th, 15″6 from the lead after 3 specials
You definitely have to keep an eye on Lappi! With his Yaris WRC, the Finn has just set the 3rd fastest time in SS3, just 1″6 behind Tänak’s benchmark. Something to worry his adversaries
If the i20s are in the game, the M-Sport Fiesta is not. Already in difficulty since the start of the day, Greensmith and Fourmaux are ranked 8th and 9th provisionally at 20″3 and 23″5 from Tänak. These performances confirm that their team has already given up on the 2021 season to focus on 2022
Breen did not give up and set the 2nd provisional time in 10'15″5, only 1 second behind Tänak. The Irishman is in the game
Katsuta slots in between Neuville and Ogier in 5th place with a time of 10'22″4. He finished 7″9 behind Tänak
The Estonian lets a few tenths slip away in the last sector but takes the lead in the special. 10'14″5 for him with 3″9 ahead of Rovanperä. Breen, Katsuta, Lappi, Greensmith and Fourmaux still have to pass
4″8 ahead after the 3rd sector for Tänak who could hit hard in this SS3!
Rovanperä temporarily takes the lead thanks to his time of 10'18″4, 0″2 faster than Evans. “I can’t push it any further. I'm already at the limit. I lack grip,” admits the Finn
Neuville does not yet seem to be in rhythm with his i20 and finishes 3″7 behind Evans with a time of 10’22″3. “The special was OK. I feel like I have to take risks to go faster,” he explains.
As expected, Evans dislodged Ogier from 1st place. 10'18″1 for the 2019 world vice-champion who was 6″1 faster than his counterpart
10'24″7 is the time to beat after Ogier's passage. “It’s not easy to be in front,” laments the Frenchman
Evans continues and leads Ogier by more than 3 seconds in the 2nd sector. Meanwhile, Neuville does better than the Frenchman but not than the Welshman after the first section
The Welshman is on the attack and it shows. 1″7 ahead of Ogier after the 1st sector
As Ogier tackles the second part of the special, Evans starts his time. The Welshman has the Tricolor in his sights
Here is the route of the SS3 (Sahloinen-Moksi 1) 21,37 km long
Let's go for SS3! Ogier is the first to start. He is currently 7th overall, 5″4 behind Tänak
The start of SS3 is scheduled for 14:26 a.m.
