Craig Breen (Citroën) lost more than two minutes in the Vaumeilh-Claret special (15,18km), SS5 of the Monte-Carlo Rally. The Irishman was in great difficulty following a broken brake on the first pass and even had to stop to let Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) pass.
Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) stood out by taking the scratch with a time of 8'42''6. Ott Tänak (Toyota) was the closest with three tenths behind, followed by Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) at seven tenths. Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) stayed on a good pace, finishing 2''4 with a second ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) who preceded his teammate Esapekka Lappi by seven tenths. Breen also managed to finish the special. His time is also unknown but his delay will be significant. He should give up his 7th place to Bouffier.
