Rally of Catalonia 2016
The second stage of the Rally de Catalunya will consist of 139km timed spread over eight special stages. The day will start at 8:10 a.m. with the 6,28km to Vilaplana.

Pontus Tidemand (Skoda Fabia R5) took the lead of WRC 2 after the second pass of Terra Alta, three seconds ahead of previous category leader Jan Kopecky (Fabia R5). Julien Maurin still completes the provisional podium but is more than a minute behind his opponents.

Dani Sordo (Hyundai) increased his lead at the end of the first stage of the Rally de Catalunya by gaining almost seven seconds from Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) in the 38,95km Terra Alta, the seventh special of the event won by Kris Meeke (Citroën).
Although Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) is still losing ground at the head of the race with 28 seconds behind, he has nevertheless gained more than two seconds from his teammate Hayden Paddon.
Dani Sordo concluded the first day with a lead of 17 seconds over Sébastien Ogier. Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) follows more than half a minute from the head of the race, with a lead of around ten seconds over the Hyundais of Thierry Neuville and Hayden Paddon. Mads Ostberg (Ford) has come back to within seven seconds of the New Zealander but now only has a 12 second lead over Kris Meeke.
Camilli is still the slowest. The Frenchman was 41 seconds behind Meeke in SS7 and finished the stage almost 4 minutes behind Sordo. “We progress over the kilometers, that’s something in itself. »
Breen ranks 27s behind his teammate Meeke by setting the 6th provisional time. The Irishman remains almost 20 seconds ahead of Tänak in the general classification. “We scared each other in this special. We are already happy to be here. »

Tänak fails almost half a minute from the provisional scratch. “It was completely dry and we weren't prepared for that. The tires didn't hold up. » The Dmack driver is almost a minute behind Meeke in the general classification.

The riders from Sordo onwards are all faster than Ogier at the moment. Sordo is ahead of the Frenchman by 6s in the 2nd sector.
