Alex Marquez: “We can expect anything from Marc”

The Marquez brothers will once again share a garage in MotoGP from the 2024 season, Marc joining Alex at Gresini Racing. The roles will however be reversed, since during their previous collaboration in 2020, the youngest of the family had joined his eldest at Repsol Honda, while this time he will be the veteran of the team.

A data which, according to number 73, does not give him any advantage, the Spaniard even prefers to warn the rest of the results grid that the eight-time world champion could obtain at Ducati.

“You can expect anything from Marc Márquez, he has not lost the magic, assures the cadet of the eight-time world champion during an event organized by Estrella Galicia Madrid. The first year with a new bike is not easy, and there will be circuits where he performs better than others, but he knows how to suffer and is capable of anything.

The objective is to start on the right foot, like everyone else on the grid. We finished 2023 very well and the goal will be to start at this level in 2024, He continues. Expectations ? It's too early to have any and it would be talking for nothing. We will keep a low profile and work race by race. The 2022 bike won races in 2023, and next year it's very likely to repeat if the GP24 doesn't have much more than the GP23. »

The former teammate of Fabio Di Giannantonio also ensures that he can grow as a driver alongside his brother, or at least more than in 2020 when their association was cut short by the injury of the No. 93.

“It’s different from 2020, and now I can get the best out of Marc, I’m sure we will stimulate each other and the level of the team will increase. Everything will go quickly and I will benefit from it. If health is there, the results will come” concludes Alex Marquez.
