  • The poleman did not tremble and opened in the best way this Season 10. Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche) won the Mexico E-Prix, opening round of the world championship of Formula E. On a circuit that he particularly likes (winner in 2022, second in 2023), the German established himself as a boss with perfect management of his race and his energy, in front of a Sébastien Buemi (Envision) solid and a Nick Cassidy (Jaguar) applied for his first with the British team. Be careful, however, since Pascal Wehrlein and Jake Dennis are under investigation for violation of technical regulations…
  • After a very clean start, the start of the race was rather hectic at the back of the pack. The ABT Cupra team, which was celebrating its 100th E-Prix in Formula E, was not at the party: Lucas Di Grassi found himself in the wall on the 2nd loop due to a brake problem, followed a lap later by Nico Müller, victim of an overly optimistic attack by Antonio Félix Da Costa.
  • The race was disrupted by the intervention of the safety car on the 9th lap, following an accident by Robin Frijns (Envision). The Dutchman crashed into the TecPros at the exit of the stadium while trying to overtake the Mahindra of Edoardo Mortara. At the restart, Pascal Wehrlein was able to get the better of Sébastien Buemi in the Attack Mode game, before escaping in the lead and never letting go of the controls of the Mexico E-Prix.
  • Maximilian Günther (Maserati) was unable to defend his place on the podium, while Mitch Evans (Jaguar) barely retained his 5th place, he who was put under pressure for more than ten laps by a Jean -Éric Vergne (DS Penske) conqueror. The Frenchman, who started 10th, chose a daring strategy by using his two Attack Modes very early in the race. A gamble paid off since he finished 6th, even if he had the pace to aim even better.
  • The Andretti team was rather discreet, but the two American mounts finished in the points: Jake Dennis and Norman Nato made a group shot with 9th and 10th places. The third Frenchman, Sacha Fenestraz (Nissan), failed in 12th place.
  • With the 25 points for victory and the three points for pole position, Pascal Wehrlein is therefore logically leading the championship at the end of this first round, with 28 points. Only the point for best lap escaped him, obtained by Nick Cassidy. Among the manufacturers, Porsche is in the lead thanks to the 28 points of the winner of the day, ahead of Jaguar (26 points) and Envision (18 points).
