From 2023, theIndyCar will turn somewhat green. The North American single-seater series announced this Friday the introduction of 100% renewable fuel. This will be manufactured by Shell, the official supplier of IndyCar, whose contract has also been renewed. This new fuel consists of a mixture of ethanol, derived from sugarcane waste, and other biofuels. IndyCar will therefore become the first North American automobile series to use fuel 100% made from renewable materials. Currently, the series is powered by a compound close to E85, a fuel made up of 85% ethanol and 15% fossil fuel.
