Porsche in the lead at mid-race in Brazil

After a great stint by Romain Dumas (and after an unforeseen stop following a puncture) and following the pit stop of the Porsche 919 Hybrid n°20, Marc Lieb finds himself in the lead of the 6 Hours of São Paolo as the halfway point has just been reached in Brazil. There Toyota TS040 Hybrid n°8 of Anthony Davidson, despite a spin caused by contact with the ProSpeed Porsche 911 of Matthieu Vaxivière, moved up to second position at 3″2 ahead of the Porsche n°20, currently driven by Timo Bernhard which is more than 40″ tall. The Audi R18 e-tron quattro of Lucas di Grassi follows in 4th position, while the firm with the rings seems to favor double stints on its tires, but remains in contact with Bernhard. The #7 Toyota of Stéphane Sarrazin and the #2 Audi of André Lotterer complete the LM P1-H rankings. In LM P1-L, after the setbacks of the CLM P1/01 and the R-One n°12 (gearbox), it was the R-One n°13 of Dominik Kraihamer which took the lead of style.

In LM P2, the No. 03 SMP Racing Oreca 37R is in the lead following an exit from the track caused by contact with another car from the No. 47 KCMG. The Oreca 03R n°27 completes the top three. Remember that the G-Drive Racing Ligier JS P2 made a mistake earlier in the race, victim of a problem with a suspension triangle, Olivier Pla emerging unscathed from the accident.

In GTE, the No. 911 Team Manthey Porsche 92 RSR of Frédéric Makowiecki dominated just before stopping in front of the Aston Martin #99 (which has just spun with Fernando Rees at the wheel) and #97 from Stefan Mücke. In GTE Am, Christoffer Nygaard took the lead in the #98 Aston Martin ahead of the #95 Vantage of Heinemeier-Hansson and the Ferrari 458 Italia n°81 driven by Andrea Bertolini.
