Kazuki Nakajima waited for the end of the warm-up 24 Hours of Le Mans to set the best time of the session by completing a lap in 3'18''308 at the wheel of the Toyota No. 8. The Japanese preceded his compatriot by 3 tenths Kamui Kobayashi on the No. 7, the latter being the author of the pole with a time of 3’14”791.
Porsche was in the lead a few minutes from the end, but the n°919 1 Hybrid of Nick Tandy had to settle for 3rd position, 1”8 behind the first TS050 Hybrid. The German LMP1 is ahead of the No. 9 Toyota by Stone-Kunimoto-Lopez.
In LMP2, Alex Lynn was responsible for setting the best time in the category with a time of 3'27''096 achieved at the wheel of the No. 07 G-Drive Racing Oreca 26. The Vaillante Rebellion are the closest with more than 2 seconds behind, the n°31 of Cheers-Senna-Canal ahead of the n°13 of Piquet Jr-Heinemeier Hansson-Beche.
Enzo Guibbert encountered an accelerator pedal sensor problem on the #07 Graff Racing Oreca 39, but it was Idec Sport Racing which had the most complicated test session with Paul going off the track Lafargue at the wheel of the #217 Ligier JS P17 at the Porsche corners. The LMP2's nose was damaged after contact with the rail.
The GTE crews did not encounter any major problems during warm-up. Only Romain Brandela spun on the Larbre Compétition Corvette.
Ryan Briscoe was responsible for setting the benchmark time for the GTE Pro with a time of 3'51''789 achieved at the wheel of the No. 69 Ford GT. Kévin Estre was the closest with less than a second behind the Porsche n°92 which precedes the three other Ford GTs. The first one Ferrari, the No. 488 F82 of the Risi Competizione of Vilander-Fisichella-Kaffer, ranked 6th. Corvettes and Aston Martin are further behind.
In GTE Am, it was Andrea Bertolini who set the best time with a time of 3:55 in the #575 DH Racing Ferrari.
