Porsche was once again the fastest in testing for the 6h of Bahrain even if it was the No. 919 1 Hybrid of Bernhard-Webber-Hartley which achieved the benchmark in FP3.

Porsche maintains the advantage in EL3 in Bahrain

Porsche will have finished first in each practice session at the 6 Hours of Bahrain. The No. 919 1 Hybrid of Timo Bernhard finished first in Free Practice 3 with a lap completed in 1'40''318, half a second off the time set by Oliver Jarvis' No. 2 sister car. The LMP1 of the Championship leaders was further behind in the last session with a 5th time almost 7 tenths behind the first Porsche.

The first R18 nevertheless caused a yellow flag when it stopped in the first corner at the end of the session. There Toyota No. 5 by Anthony Davidson ranked a few hundredths behind the first car at the Rings, narrowly preceding the second Audi entrusted to André Lotterer.

The Rebellion R-One of Dominik Kraihamer finished six seconds behind the best time, beating the ByKolles Racing CLM01/P1 driven by Simon Trummer by almost two seconds.

G-Drive Racing continues to dominate the LMP2 with a time of 1'50''431 credited to the Oreca 05 of René Rast which is one second ahead of theAlpine A460 by Stéphane Richelmi. The second A460 from Paul-Loup Chatin completed the top three in the category. Manor's No. 05 Oreca 44 entrusted to Rao-Bradley-Lynn encountered a mechanical problem when stopping on the track.

AF Corse regains color since the Ferrari No. 51 of Gianmaria Bruni took the lead in GTE Pro with a time of 1'59''038, ahead of the leader by three tenths.Aston Martin Vantage #97 by Darren Turner. The No. 66 Ford GT of Stefan Mücke completed the top three in the category with a half-second delay. The Italian team also finished at the top of the GTE Am with the #458 F83 of Emmanuel Collard who completed a lap of the Sakhir circuit in 2:00.

Qualifying for the 6 Hours of Bahrain will be contested from 15 p.m. (French time).
