Silverstone: Porsche in the lead after 1 hour

The Audi n°7 entrusted to André Lotterer was only able to resist the Porsche 919 Hybrid n°1 by Mark Webber. The Australian overtook the car on pole before handing over the wheel to his teammate Brendon Hartley.

It is now the No. 18 R8 driven by Oliver Jarvis which is launched in pursuit of the leader after the first pit stops, ahead of the No. 7. The second Porsche driven first by Romain Dumas then Neel Jani remains behind the cars at Les Anneaux.

The Toyota TS050 Hybrid struggles to keep up with the German LMP1s. No. 5 by Anthony Davidson precedes no. 6 by Kamui Kobayashi.

After a superb first stint from Luis Felipe Derani who took the lead in LMP2, the #2 ESM Ligier JS P31 fell to fourth after the Brazilian was replaced by Christopher Cumming. Roman Rusinov regained the lead of the category in the Oreca 05 of G-Drive Racing which precedes the Ligier JS P2 of RGR Sport by Morand driven by Ricardo Gonzalez and the Gibson 015S of Strakka Racing driven by Jonny Kane.

La Ferrari #51 of Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander suffered a three-minute stop & go following an engine change. The sister car of Davide Rigon and Sam Bird is battling against the Ford GT of Stefan Mücke and Andy Priaulx and theAston Martin Vantage #97 of Fernando Rees, but the latter has just received a penalty for excessive speed in the pits. The Abu Dhabi Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR of Klaus Bachler retains the GTE Am lead.
