Italy welcomes the WEC for the second round of the 2024 season, the 6 Hours of Imola. This is the first time that the World ChampionshipEndurance goes to the historic Emilia-Romagna route, a demanding and narrow circuit where risk-taking will be maximum.
On his land, Ferrari flew through qualifying by signing a hat-trick: the #499 50P will start in pole position ahead of the private #83 and the #51. The Prancing Horse will have the advantage approaching the first corner, which could already eliminate several competitors. Behind the Italian mounts, the two Porsche The official teams will be in ambush with No. 6 in front of No. 5. A BMW is inserted between the two Toyota, in 7th place.
We have to go back further to have the layout of the first French Hypercar: both Peugeot 8X8 version 2024 will start their first race in 14th and 15th rows, while the Alpine – trapped by the red flag during qualifying on Saturday – will start at the back of the pack in the Hypercars, in 17th and 18th places.
In the LMGT3, it is a Porsche which will start in pole position for the 6 Hours of Imola, with the #92 from the Manthey PureRxcing team victorious in Qatar. L'Aston Martin No. 27 from the Heart of Racing team will accompany him on the front row, in front of the two BMW Team WRTs. No. 46 of Valentino Rossi will start from 3rd place.
