Le WEC sets down its suitcases near Manama for the Bahrain 8H, the seventh and final round of the 2023 season. At the end of this last meeting of the year, we will know the champions of the last three championships still in play, namely the Drivers’ title in Hypercar, and the Drivers’ and Teams’ titles in LM P2. As in Fuji, 36 cars are present on the entry list for the 8 Hours of Bahrain (September 4).

Only one name is missing in Hypercar, and it is unsurprisingly Glickenhaus. Already absent at Fuji in September, the American team will not be there on the Sakhir route. Jim Glickenhaus' small Endurance team recently announced its withdrawal discipline, due to lack of budget.

Despite the absence of SCG 007 n°708, the Hypercar field nevertheless remains well stocked with 12 prototypes, the same as in Japan. Porsche is the manufacturer best represented with four 963s, two official and two customer (Hertz Team JOTA and Proton Competition). Ferrari, Toyota et Peugeot continue with two mounts while Vanwall and Cadillac complete the list with one unit.

In LMP2, the field shows twelve Oreca 07s for these 8 Hours of Bahrain 2023. Unlike the premier category, nothing is yet decided since Team WRT, Inter Europol Competition and United Autosports will compete for the title. Finally in LMGTE Am, thirteen cars are expected for what will be the last race in the history of the category before the transition to GT3 regulations in 2024.
