WEC – 1H: The Toyota already on the carpet in Sao Paulo

Toyota will certainly bite their fingers for having chosen to only compete at the end of the season with a single TS030. While the Japanese manufacturer was optimistic upon arriving at Interlagos where it celebrated its first success in the discipline last year, the race of the No. 030 TS8 is already over. While Stéphane Sarrazin was in third position behind the two Audi R18 e-tron quattros of Allan McNish and Marcel Fässler, the Frenchman seriously damaged the Japanese LMP1 by going off the road at the S of Senna following contact with the Lotus T128 of Dominik Kraihamer goes into oversteer. The safety car has been deployed as Rebellion Racing can now aim for the podium with the Lola B12/60 Coupé currently driven by Nick Heidfeld.

Mike conway retained the pole advantage of the Oreca 03 of G-Drive Racing and is ahead of the No. 49 of PeCom Racing led by Luis Perez Companc. Oak Racing remains in ambush with two leading Morgans led by Ricardo Gonzalez and David Heinemeier-Hansson, even if the Greaves Motorsport Zytek is also at the forefront of the category.

AF Corse puts up a great fight against Aston Martin in GTE Pro. There Ferrari #51 of Gianmaria Bruni leads the category ahead of the #97 Vantage of Darren Turner. The F458 n°71 of Kamui Kobayashi seeks to maintain the advantage over the #99 Aston Martin of Bruno Senna. Porsche is having a difficult weekend since the No. 911 92 RSR of Marc Lieb suffered a puncture in the first laps. In GTE Am, the British manufacturer remained in control with the No. 96 Vantage of Stuart Hall.
