Shortly before the opening round of the world championshipEndurance, in mid-April, Strakka Racing announced that its LM P2 prototype would miss the first two rounds of the 2014 season. WEC, postponing its debut to 24 Hours of Le Mans. Car (of which you can find new photos here) would have notably experienced a problem with approval.
Fortunately, two weeks before the test day of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, June 1, the new Dome S103 with a Nissan engine returned to the track. The English team carried out tests at Silverstone (England) this week and will complete them by three days in Spa next week. Karl Patman, Team Manager of Strakka Racing, said he was happy with the work carried out: “We continue to follow our schedule while distributing driving time between our drivers. The car performed well in extreme track conditions, which is very encouraging for Le Mans. »
The Strakka racing simulator is also widely used, with around 16km traveled: “Every week we receive data from Dome and we have a rather impressive catalog of it, which allows us to accelerate development and get our pilots used to it. »
The three Britons Nick Leventis, Jonny Kane and Danny Watts will take turns behind the wheel at Spa, the last rehearsal before the test day at Le Mans.
