Lilou Wadoux continues to discover new horizons. After LM P2 and Hypercar testing over the last two years, the 22-year-old Frenchwoman is taking on the 24 Hours of Daytona this weekend with the No. 07 Oreca 88 of Richard Mille AF Corse.

« We have a good car overall, the French driver tells us in the heat of the Florida paddock. This allows us all to ride and gain confidence. It's a pretty cool circuit, new to me. It's a pleasure to be back in an LM P2 here and it's going quite well. The Roar allows you to prepare well. »

For her discovery of the American double clock tower, Lilou Wadoux can count on an experienced crew with Luis Pérez Companc, Nicklas Nielsen and Matthieu Vaxiviere. “ They can share with me their experience from previous years, appreciates Wadoux. They know how it's done here, whereas I've only done Watkins Glen previously (At IMSA. Editor’s note). »

After a year in GT in the World ChampionshipEndurance of the FIA, Wadoux will thus return to the LM P2 that she knew in WEC with Richard Mille Racing Team during the year 2022.

Absent in the WEC this season, the Northerner will participate in three other rounds of the IMSA Endurance Cup in 2024: Sebring, Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans. On the other hand, she will have to skip the meeting in Indianapolis due to her commitment to Super GT, the other big novelty of her year. In Japan, she will pilot a Ferrari 296 GT3 of Ponos Racing in the GT300 category.

« I like discovering new championships and I needed one that didn't clash too much with IMSA (in terms of dates. Editor’s note), explains Lilou. I met Kei (Cozzolino) in Fuji who will be my teammate there. I watched a few races and it made me want to do it even more. We did our first tests in December and it was really good. »

If the experience proves conclusive, Lilou Wadoux does not rule out continuing in the Japanese championship in the future, and why not moving to the higher category: the GT500. The Habs are also not closing the door to a return to the FIA WEC, if an opportunity presents itself.
