Ferrari already has two podiums this season: a 3rd place for Sainz in Bahrain and another in Jeddah for Leclerc. Can they aim higher in Melbourne?

Ferrari is undoubtedly the second strength of the field at the start of the season, a little in no man's land. Far behind Red Bull in the race, but with, nevertheless, a small head start on McLaren, Mercedes et Aston Martin. In Australia, the Prancing Horse intends to thwart the bull which seems out of control this season. With the very probable return of Carlos Sainz at the wheel of the SF-24, the Italian team arrives in Melbourne with all its strength.

It is therefore time to go on the offensive for Ferrari. Fred Vasseur, the main team of the men in red, prefers to look ahead, rather than behind:  “We expect to be at the forefront on this circuit which could produce a hierarchy similar to that seen in Jeddah. We intend to take an aggressive approach with the aim of putting pressure on the team that won the first two races.".

And for good reason, the Australian Grand Prix offers us the softest range of Pirelli tires, so we expect several pit stops. And add to that the potential presence of one or more Safety Cars. So the difference will perhaps not be made on the track, but rather on the pit wall by optimizing the racing strategy…
