It's definitely the week of transfers among the leaders of the different teams on the grid. It all started with the announcement of Williams this Monday confirming the departures of Jost Capito, the main team, and François-Xavier Demain, the technical director. Just this Tuesday morning, Sauber did the same with Frédéric Vasseur leaving for Ferrari to succeed Mattia Binotto who will leave office on December 31. And never two without three since McLaren formalized a few hours later the end of his collaboration with Andreas Seidl who will replace the Habs at Hinwil.
Andreas Seidl joins the Sauber Group as Chief Executive Officer, starting in January 2023.
He will be tasked with continuing the growth of the group as Sauber keeps establishing itself as one of the brightest sporting, industrial entities around.

Although McLaren's main team for the last 4 seasons, the German, who went through the LMP1 program of Porsche in the 2010s, will not occupy the same function at Sauber. Indeed, Andreas Seidl, expected in Hinwil in January, will be CEO of the Swiss structure, the same role that Frédéric Vasseur occupied until then. Concerning the future TP, an announcement will be made later.
« It’s great to be joining the Sauber group from January. It is a team with a rich history in Formula 1 and an organization that I know very well having worked and lived in Hinwil for four years, said the one who worked at BMW when the German manufacturer was involved in F1. I look forward to joining the team and working with all colleagues across the Sauber Group on the ambitious goals we have set together. I would like to thank Finn Rausing and all the members of the Sauber group for their choice: I look forward to repaying their trust with my work »
Audi is already preparing for 2026
The arrival of Andreas Seidl in the ranks of Sauber from 2023 confirms that the work internally at Audi has already begun. If its involvement as an engine manufacturer will not take place before 2026 and the new engine regulations, the German manufacturer is already preparing its entry into the matter with the appointment of the German at the head of the Sauber group.
In addition to structuring its new organizational chart, Audi has also started work within its Motorsport center for its F1 project. An expansion of its facilities in Neuburg an der Danube has already begun with the creation of a building of more than 3 square meters dedicated to the development of the F000 engine. 1 is already tomorrow for the Germans!
