After taking sixth place at the Austrian Grand Prix on July 3, Jenson Button is dreaming of a feat this weekend at his national event at Silverstone. The 2009 world champion hopes to achieve a first podium at the British GP which has always resisted him in 16 participations.
“Finishing on the podium at the British Grand Prix is at the top of my bucket list, admits the pilot McLaren. I achieved almost every other goal I had in F1… I would really like to achieve it and I would experience it as a victory. »
Jenson Button remains aware that McLaren's performances are still too far from those of the teams at the front to hope to finish in the top three regularly.
“The result obtained in Austria obviously motivated everyone. It would be fantastic to see that a podium is possible this year, but it won't be realistic this time. Despite everything, I am going to Silverstone being very encouraged by the progress made”, adds the Briton.
