Perfection does not exist. The proof in the facts: at the end of a head and shoulders dominated season, Red Bull won all the Grands Prix of the year… except one, that of Singapore which was ceded to Carlos Sainz et Ferrari. The only small black spot in the exceptional campaign carried out by the Austrian team and its flagship driver, Max Verstappen. Obviously, with such a ratio of victories per Grand Prix, it is difficult to imagine a better record for the Dutchman... who nevertheless underlines that there are still areas of improvement for the seasons to come.

“Realistically we can't do much better than what we achieved, but it's not always about trying to win 20 (races), declared Max Verstappen on the sidelines of the FIA awards ceremony on Friday in Baku. It's also about trying to find improvements in yourself, in the car. If it means we have improved the car and we can fight for the championship again, but we only win 10 races, that's also great. There are always things we can improve on, we know that. Of course the car was very dominant, but we also saw some areas for improvement and that's what we are working on for next year. »

Red Bull won't be as dominant in 2024, says Horner

A feeling shared by his boss, Christian Horner. The British manager, at the head of Red Bull Racing since the brand's arrival as a racing team Formula 1 in 2005, had never experienced such domination with Max Verstappen, he who nevertheless lived the years Sebastian Vettel at the start of the 2010s. The Milton Keynes-based outfit's Team Principal said his side were still striving for perfection, but expected the rivals to be closer next season.

“I doubt we will be able to achieve again, statistically, what we did this year, said the Briton, who also praised the consistency of Max Verstappen during an impressive year. We are always learning in this profession. We know the peloton will converge, we've seen it at different times over the past year. We have to improve, we have to continue to evolve. »
