Sébastien Loeb will not participate in the last Grand Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi. The information puts an end to months of speculation on the possible participation of the five-time World Rally Champion in a GP of F1.
The person concerned, who carried out tests in the GP2 Series at the beginning of October with the DPR team, did not obtain the compulsory Super License to drive in F1. On the Jerez circuit, the Alsatian failed to do better than the last time of the session, more than two seconds behind the best time.
For now, Loeb will focus on the end of the season WRC. This weekend in Great Britain he will compete in the last round of the season, decisive for the award of the world title. With a point behind Mikko Hirvonen, Loeb absolutely must finish ahead of the Finn and in the points.
