McLaren and Gulf confirmed this Friday that their strategic partnership will end naturally at the end of the current contract, i.e. at the end of the 2022 season. Formula 1. The historic collaboration between the British manufacturer and the American oil company was relaunched in July 2020, just before the start of the season (postponed due to the health crisis).
It's been iconic and bold.

McLaren and Gulf enjoyed a long history that began in 1968 and continued through the 1973 season. Gulf and McLaren enjoyed success in both Formula 1 and the Can-Am prototype championship. The partnership was then renewed 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1990s, then in 2020 in its current form.
In May 2021, McLaren unveiled a special livery celebrating this historic partnership with a unique, now iconic design for the Monaco Grand Prix. The team wore Gulf's trademark sky blue and orange on both cars. The combinations of Lando Norris et Daniel Ricciardo, the racing team's kit and on all the team's social media platforms had also taken on the colors of the American tanker.
