Mixed first day for Gasly in Austin

Returning to the United States for the first time since 2019, Pierre Gasly didn't have the best Friday of his career. At the wheel of a high-performance AT02 during the last meeting in Turkey, the driver Alpha Tauri was unable to exploit it correctly during the first two sessions, settling for the 6th and 12th times of the day.

A finding that Yuki tsunoda, a novice at COTA, also felt during the two sessions of the day. “ It was nice for a first day of driving in Austin. It's obviously a circuit I'm new to, but I think I found a good approach pretty quickly, and it was fun driving. However, we have a lot of work to do since the pace of the car is not yet there.."

The two representatives of the Italian team will have a final free practice session (20:00 p.m. French time) before tackling qualifying at 23:00 p.m. this Saturday and showing whether their AT02 has made progress, or not.
