Mercedes AMG F1 formalized the replacement of Nick Fry by Toto wolff as new executive director of the German team, the former shareholder of Williams F1 Team taking up his new role next month after taking a 30% stake in the team. Nick Fry will continue to assist the team as a business operations consultant until at least the end of next year. “I would like to thank Nick for over a decade of service to the Brackley stable.”, commented the new executive director. “We will work hard to retain our loyal partners by also bringing new, attractive names into the sport. I am happy that Nick remains close to the team by supporting us in achieving our goals. »
Nick Fry is therefore handing over control to the management of Mercedes AMG F1 after having held this position for around ten years. “I feel very fortunate to have had the chance to work with our team for the past eleven years and will remain extremely proud that we took this team to their first victory and World Championship titles in 2009 (with Jenson Button and Brawn GP). The success of our business activities is also important because we have managed to receive the support of the world's largest companies and thus build a solid foundation for the future success of our team. I believe Mercedes AMG Petronas offers the best partnership propositions in F1 and I look forward to continuing to support the team and its partners for years to come. »
