Is Pierre Gasly will you manage to get back to Q3? In France, the Norman had the ability to achieve this, as evidenced by the 8th place of Yuki tsunoda. However, the Habs experienced a new disappointment. Eliminated in Q1, Pierre Gasly wanted more in front of his audience and especially with the improvements on his car. " Since this morning, it's a lot more complicated, we were comfortable in the top 10 and now we're having a lot more difficulty so we don't really know why », explained Pierre Gasly directly after the qualifications at the Canal + microphone

Although he does not yet have all the keys in hand to understand the reasons for this debacle, it was an error in his last attempt which cost him a passage to Q2. “ On the last lap I was improving and completely lost the car in turn 6 », analyzed the Norman. After returning to the track, Pierre Gasly asked Pierre Hamelin, his race engineer if he had one last chance. The answer was negative. The pilot Alpha Tauri lacked fuel to complete another lap of the Paul Ricard circuit. The Norman had no other choice than to enter the pit lane directly from Q1.

New recovery objective for Pierre Gasly

The penalties of Carlos Sainz and Kevin Magnussen, who both managed to reach Q3, will allow the Frenchman to move up two places on the starting grid. From 14th position, Pierre Gasly will once again have to hope to move up the peloton and hope to grab the top 10. “ Tomorrow we will have to try to go back up. It is certain that we are starting extremely far away and it was not the qualification we would have wanted, but it is never over, there is still a long race tomorrow and we will do everything to come back », Announces the AlphaTauri driver.
