The 2022 season of Formula 1 comes to an end this weekend. It is in Abu Dhabi, on the Yas Marina track, that the last race of the year will take place, just one week after a lively Brazilian round in São Paulo. The lands of Ayrton Senna have blessed both a new pole-sitter and a new Grand Prix winner, respectively Kevin Magnussen and George Russell.

This F1 season epilogue should be much calmer than last season's finale, during which Lewis Hamilton et Max Verstappen were decided in the last lap of the race for the world title while the two men presented themselves on equal points on the starting line. A championship which found its outcome in the famous episode of the Safety Car.

This year, no final meeting for the title, since the Dutchman secured a second world crown from Suzuka (Japan). Above all, second place will be played out in Abu Dhabi, between Sergio Pérez and Charles Leclerc. We will also carefully monitor the situation within the team. Red Bull after the tensions that emerged between the two drivers of the Austrian team in Brazil.

This final meeting of the year will also be the last of the career of Sebastian Vettel in Formula 1. The four-time world champion will indeed bow out at the end of this Grand Prix. It will be replaced in 2023 at Aston Martin by Fernando Alonso, who will bid new farewells to Alpine. This could also be the last appearance of Daniel Ricciardo. Not preserved by McLaren, the Australian will not be on the grid in 2023, but hopes to find an opportunity to return in 2024.

No sprint race on the program this time, the weekend therefore returns to a more traditional program to conclude this year. Free Practice 1 will take place on Friday at 14:00 p.m. local time (11:00 a.m. in France) and Free Practice at 17:00 p.m. (14:00 p.m. in France).

The third driving session will take place from 14:30 p.m. on Saturday (11:30 a.m. in France) before qualifying at 18:00 p.m. the same day (15:00 p.m. in France). Finally, the race will start at 17:00 p.m. on Sunday, for a classic start time in Europe (14:00 p.m. in France).
