The World Motorsport Council met this Wednesday October 19 in London for its third meeting of 2022. In its verdict, the FIA ​​communicated on measures to improve safety in the Formula 1 regulations.

Thus, for 2023, “the size of the mirrors has been increased in order to improve visibility in blind spots, while the definition of the braking circuit has been refined. »

Further improvements have also been made to the regulations on roll bars, which have been strengthened following the FIA ​​investigation into the crash. Guanyu-Zhou at Silverstone. Indeed, if the Halo had absorbed the impact well against the asphalt then on the gravel trap of turn 1, this was not the case with the “roll hoop”. The roll bar including an air intake for the engine had flattened as soon as the car had been sent upside down against the ground.
