The star of the week is him: Sergio Pérez! The pilot Red Bull returns to his country this weekend for the Mexican Grand Prix. A home race that the world champion team wanted to celebrate with its protégé at home in Guadalajara. The magnificent setting of the La Minerva monument served as the backdrop for “Checo” Pérez to deliver an unforgettable show to his fans, as the sound of the RB8's 2,4L V7 resonated throughout the city.

Sergio Pérez treated the crowd to a plethora of donuts and burnouts. The Red Bull Showrun allowed the public to get up close and personal with their local star and the Red Bull on a 2,9km track along Avenida Vallarta. After his last lap of the circuit, “Checo” Pérez got out of his car to greet the crowd. Draped in a Mexican flag, he addressed more than 130 trackside fans, eager to show their support ahead of the 000 Mexican Grand Prix this weekend.

“A dream come true” for Pérez

“This is a dream come true for me today, so thank you everyone for making this possible, declared an emotional Sergio Pérez. This is such a special day for me and I hope it will forever remain in the hearts of the people of Guadalajara. Coming home after winning the constructors' title on Sunday makes it even more meaningful for me. It's been an incredible season for the whole team and things happen so fast in our sport, we're already focused on winning Sunday. It was one of the most special days of my career and I would like it to happen again this weekend. » The Mexican is aiming for a first home victory in his career, after winning two Grands Prix this season, in Monaco and Singapore.
