Williams has confirmed the appointment of Andreas Schlegel as team heritage director.

Williams welcomes its new heritage director

The heritage of Williams is in new hands. This Thursday, the Grove team announced the arrival of Andreas Schlegel, experienced international marketing specialist and commercial strategist, within its organizational chart to lead Williams Heritage.

« With proven experience in business development and global deal flow, » Andreas Schlegel joins Williams as team heritage director for « take advantage of its rich heritage. » In the past, the new integral member of the English structure has occupied strategic positions with large manufacturers such asAston Martin, MercedesBenz, Porsche, Daimler, Lotus and even Volvo and even worked in the strategy consulting firm PWC Strategy&.

« I have worked closely with motorsport teams around the world and welcome the opportunity to join Williams Racing, pointed out Andreas Schlegel. The history of this team is almost unmatched, and I can't wait to see how we can maximize this wonderful legacy."

Created in 2014 as a new division, Williams Heritage aims to manage the car collection of Formula 1 history of the stable. The department's teams take care of the maintenance and conservation of cars belonging to the Williams Grand Prix Collection, as well as the presentation, sale and operation of the fleet of single-seaters dating from 1978, the first season of the team with his own car: Alan Jones' FW06.
