Akkodis ASP adds a third victory to its 3 chase after successes at the 2023 km of Paul-Ricard at the beginning of June and at the Nürburgring last month. Back in Germany for the 1th round of the GT World Challenge Europe, Timur Boguslavskiy and Raffaele Marciello won the 000nd race of the meeting organized in Hockenheim. Starting from 7rd position on the grid on Sunday, the Italian immediately took 2nd place at the expense of Patric Niederhauser (Audi Saintéloc Junior Team no. 3).

A collision between several cars led to the intervention of the Safety Car on the first lap. When the proceedings resumed, Marciello quickly found himself behind Mattia Drudi, who had won in C1 the day before with Ricardo Feller at the wheel of the No. 1 Audi Tresor Orange40. The pilot of the Mercedes No. 88, however, had the advantage in race pace and was quick to take control of the Sunday race at the cost of a great maneuver in the Stadium. The new leader was then not worried during the first half of the race. His chances of success improved further when the No. 40 Audi was handed a five-second penalty for being too early in the race.

Alert for Boguslavskiy

Marciello was one of the last to stop during the mandatory pitstop window. His teammate Boguslavskiy returned to the track some 7 seconds ahead of the competition. The Russian suffered a scare 15 minutes from the checkered flag when he found himself without 3rd gear on the gearbox of his Mercedes. After dropping a full second in one lap, Boguslavskiy managed to find the solution to reach the finish line without incident and as a winner. The C2 podium is completed by the No. 11 Audi from the Comtoyou team (Christopher Haas-Lucas Légeret) and the No. 25 of the Saintéloc Junior Team Audi entrusted to Niederhauser and Erwan Bastard. After their time penalty, Feller and Drudi limited the damage to the championship by snatching 4th place.
