Lisieux Rally: Taking on the Pays d’Auge

Lisieux-Normandy Rally 2022

At the beginning of September, the Rally of Lisieux is the last opportunity for registered drivers to score points to obtain the precious ticket which allows them to participate in the Final of the French Rally Cup. Suffice to say that the places will be contested by the 120 registered competitors to obtain the last qualifying points.

With a course lengthened by ten kilometers compared to last year, the drivers will have the pleasure of fighting loggerheads! To ensure a fair fight and revive the nocturnal atmosphere, the teams from the Côte Fleurie stable have scheduled a 20 kilometer special on Friday from 30:14,20 p.m. which will serve as a prologue, a new feature. The next day, eight special stages for a total of 110 kilometers await the crews. If the weather conditions promise to be mild, the typical roads of the Pays d'Auge remain formidable traps and the reconnaissance will play a determining role.

Good management of mechanics and tires will be since the drivers will go to assistance (Parc des Expositions de Lisieux) only twice at the end of SS 4 and SS 7 after a set-up of preparation on Saturday morning in order to modify the settings adopted for the night special staged the day before.

Title holder, already at the wheel of the C3 Rally2, Eric Brunson is obviously the favorite for this 15th edition, but Mickaël Reydellet (Polo GTi R5) and Marc Amourette (C3 Rally2) fully intend to fight for victory.

The battles also look promising for the third stopover of the Michelin Rallye Tour in Normandy. On the four-wheel drive side, Eric Brunson (C3 Rally2), Marc Amourette (C3 Rally2), Olivier Ural (C3 Rally2), Philippe Robert (Fabia R5), Frédéric Hubert (Lancer Evo 9) and Michel Bourgeois (Lancer Evo 10) are looking for big points. For his part, Pascal Ropers (997 GT3) will take advantage of his Michelin tires to get closer to all-wheel drive. Finally, Frédéric Roussel (Clio R3) and Julien Mallet (Clio RS R3T) will engage in an intense duel for victory in two-wheel drive.
