Kevin Parent: “We have the keys in hand”

Since 2019, he has been to the right of Quentin Giordano in the French Rally Championship. At less than 30 years old and with more than 100 starts under his belt, the co-driver of the Nancy driver in the Sarrazin Motorsport Polo GTi R5 is one of the references in the field.

At 27, you have more than 100 starts in rally, what does this mean to you?

Originally, I didn't even think about doing rallying! So, taking the start of my 100th rally at Rouergue last July seems like a huge number to me. I have always enjoyed looking at the statistics of drivers and co-drivers, and generally those who exceed the 100 rallies mark start to have great careers. It's an evocative number in some ways. You could say that I have a little experience. I started at 19 and have the chance to compete in between fifteen and twenty events per season, it goes quickly. Then, it's not the quantity that counts, the one who has competed in 50 rallies in WRC has more experience than someone who records more than 100 starts in Coupe de France events. When I started, I didn't want to compete in national rallies, it seemed too big. I found it to be beyond my skills. I started with my brother (Frederic. Editor's note) on the regional events in Burgundy Franche-Comté and we had a string of class victories. Once I understood that the national events were not insurmountable, I threw myself into it. I had the same approach for the rounds of the French Championship and the international rallies.
