The entry list for the next Rally from Estonia (July 12-14) will be able to count on the presence of the Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen, aligned at the wheel of the Hyundai i20 coupe WRC.
The Baltic round, as part of a partnership with the World Rally Championship, allows the four manufacturers present in the WRC to each enter a car, in order to prepare for the Rally of Finland, contested a few days later at the end of the month of July.
Only Citroën Racing, with Esapekka Lappi, had already confirmed its presence until then. M-Sport Ford and Toyota should announce in the coming days which driver will start the Estonian Rally.
“Rally Finland is such a special rally, so fast and with such wide roads, that going to Rally Estonia will be a good way to get into the rhythm in very similar conditions, Mikkelsen explains.
It might be a little sandier in places, but I'm sure it will really help us for our commitment to Finland. I took part in a rally in Estonia in 2006, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been and I’m really looking forward to it. »
Mikkelsen took second place at the last Rally Argentina, completing the Hyundai double with his leader Thierry Neuville. This Estonian participation also offers a clue to the expected line-up in Finland for Hyundai. Besides Neuville, Mikkelsen now appears in a good position to race at the “1000 Lacs”.
