Before the start of the second stage, Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) is in the lead with 20 seconds ahead of his teammate Thierry Neuville. Kris Meeke (Citroën) completes the provisional podium ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) and Craig Breen (Citroen). Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) is only eighth behind his teammate Ott Tänak and Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) after opening the road and experiencing mechanical problems.
