Last chance in Spain for Adrien Fourmaux

Absent for the second time from a round of the world championship, the Northerner is aware that the chances of continuing his career with M-Sport are slim. With his participation in Catalunya as the only tangible prospect, the Frenchman wants to continue to believe in it.

Suddenly, the Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 stalled. THE rally of Ypres was coming to an end, there were less than 25 timed km remaining, whenAdrien fourmaux and Alexandre Coria (his co-driver) went into a very spectacular and devastating spin from every point of view. This not only caused mechanical damage and their abandonment in Belgium. The repercussions have been much more dramatic for the rest of the crew's season and could even extend beyond 2022.

The mistake that occurred in the County of Flanders was so gross, so inexplicable at this point in the rally, that the decision to remove the Frenchman was almost inevitable. The opposite seemed impossible after the latter had already put himself in the hot seat following several outings since January (Monte-Carlo, Croatia, Sardinia). Arguing that repairing the Puma's roll cage would take too long, M-Sport has in fact chosen to field “only” five cars in Greece. The conclusion to this decision appeared very clear: Adrien Fourmaux had finished his season.
